Chapter 10: Summer Revelry Celbration
_{The Bookball stadium was abuzz with excitement as all of the students waited in anticipation for what the headmistresses had promised would be a special announcement. A podium had been set up in front of the bleachers and the field had been freshly trimmed, and the air was filled with the smell of sweet fruits and the chirping of birds. Many students were huddled amongst themselves, speculating what the special announcement could be for, but a few were also vocalizing their annoyance at having to hear the announcement outdoors when the usual gathering spot was the Charmitorium, where they weren’t exposed to the elements.

Before anyone could speculate or complain further a loud blast of trumpets could be heard. As everyone turned their heads to the source, they saw a great procession of golden carriages being pulled by Pegasuses, flower petals trailing behind them and showering the campus and Book ball field. A hush had fallen over the crowd as they eagerly watched as one of the carriage doors at the very back of the line opened. Out stepped Rufous Goodfellow, son of Robin Goodfellow, or as he is better known Puck, a large bundle under his arm. He calmly and precisely walked across the field to the front of the line of carriages. Many students were already questioning why a student from Veil Prep, their Bookball rivals, was arriving in such a grand style, a few were already vocalizing their dissatisfaction. None of this seemed to affect the guest as he continued walking until he made it to the front of line and swiftly unrolled the bundle he had been carrying, which turned out to be a lavish and very expensive looking gold carpet.

He then took the handle of the carriage door and opened it, stepping to the side to allow the rider to step out unimpeded. Following suit, the other carriages all opened their doors and all at once, the riders of the remaining carriages stepped out. Four perfectly groomed fairy students walked from their carriages to the golden carpet, walking one by one until they reached the end of the carpet near the podium, moving to the side in sequence, one to each side until there were two standing on each side of the podium. The first carriage’s rider had still not stepped out, a heavy atmosphere of anticipation had come over the stadium, many students holding their breath.

After a few more silent moments, the final rider stepped out of the carriage, lead by a burst of trumpets, and several doves taking flight. He made his way down the carpet with a grand and regal stride, stopping at the podium as though he was going to speak. After a long pause, he held up a had and snapped his fingers, to which Rufous responded by stepping from his place by the carriages and making his way to the right side of the group, pulling out a scroll from under his arm and clearing his throat. He unraveled the scroll and read allowed:

Beyond the Veil of the Fairies, deep within the Enchanted Forest is a school much like Ever After High where the children of fairytale’s greatest fairies learn to hone their magic to follow in the footsteps of their great parents. From the Basics of Flying to Misdirection & Mischief, students at Veil Preparatory Academy are given the best education available to fae kind in all of Ever After. Our Campus boasts state of the art mirrornet connections, with download rates starting at 50 pixiebytes per second and each class is outfitted with the latest model of Mirrorpads. Our school lake houses the clearest and purest water available in all the lands, with a wide variety of flora and fauna. Our newly renovated Charmitorium is outfitted with the latest surround sound, lighting and theater tech that Ever After has to offer, with plush memory foam seating and spacious leg room.
Last, but certainly not least, our campus has been graced with the honor of hosting this year’s Summer Revelry, which we would like to cordially invite you to attend as a gesture of good spirit on our part, to show that we still see our sister school of Ever After High as our friends. Though this invitation does extend to the entirety of the student body, we would like to remind students and staff that in order to reach our prestigious campus one must be of the fae. But do not worry, as we have made preparations in advance to aid those who were not fortunate enough to have been born fae. Along with our glorious, magnificent, and ever humble student ambassador Tiberon, Son of the Great and Powerful Oberon, and Prince of the Fairies, we have sent a way for each of your students and staff to enjoy the festivities and amenities that our campus has to offer during our Summer Revelry celebration.

After Rufous rolled the invitation announcement back up he stepped aside and Tiberon took a step forward, striking a very regal pose. He smiled to all of the students and then began his explanation. “Many of you may be wondering why our prestigious academy would send along not one member, but all members of its Student Council in order to deliver this invitation. The answer to this inquiry is simple, we are needed in order for those of you who are sensible enough to accept our most desirable invitation, we are needed to bestow upon you the great, albeit temporary, honor of becoming one of the fae.” He then gestured to the other members of the student council, “Before you are the esteemed members of Veil Preparatory Academy’s Student Council. First, our Vice President, Prince Fabio. Next, our Treasurer Orion, our Secretary Margueritte, our Activities Social Chair Diamanté, and then our assistant Rufous.” As he finished his introductions he made a dismissive hand gesture towards the last member and regally stepped away from the podium, a look of disinterest on his face now that he was done with his task.

Rufous then stepped forward and opened the pouch he had connected to his belt. From the pouch he pulled out what appeared to be a golden seed, which he placed on the edge of the gold carpet that was laid out before them. The other members of the student council then moved forward as well and they all circled around the golden seed. With one hand outstretched towards the seed, they each sent forward a bit of their own magic and the seed began to grow rapidly. so rapidly that they all had to quickly move aside to allow it room. Within a matter of seconds the seed had finished growing and before everyone was a large archway made of the sweetest smelling flowers. In the middle of the archway hung a veil made of lace.
“Before you lies a literal veil of the faeries. Once you pass through the archway and under the veil, you will be transformed into a fairy and be able to attend the New Years Festival. We ask that you not rush, and come one at a time, allowing for the person before you to have enough time to pass and change then step aside.”

Hello Mother, Hello Father!

Parent’s Day is finally upon us, and as our school is all about Legacies, whether our students choose to follow them or not, what better way to celebrate than to invite the Alumni of our school to visit and enjoy a weekend filled with fun and feasts.

-Draw your Student with one or both their parents enjoying a day together on campus. A feast and simple carnival style games are part of this mini event so feel free to draw them enjoying either.
